Phobia!

Hi Boys,

Do you like the story we read today? I thought it was rather amusing that Phil was afraid of a tiny mouse but fearless when confronted by the lion, wolf and bear. But that goes to show that Phil is after all a normal human being who IS afraid of something!

Personally, I am terrified of three things: chickens, cats and heights!

When I was young, my male cousins and I were chased by a gaggle of geese in our grandmother’s kampong.
Being the youngest then, I lagged behind all my cousins. Although I wasn’t pecked by any of the geese, I cried all the way back to my grandmother’s house, and my cousins were spanked by Grandma for leaving me behind! But the memory of the geese hot on our heels has traumatized me ever since then! Even now, I do not dare to go near even a little chick!
*Alektrophobia is the technical term for the irrational fear of chickens.

I am also very scared of cats, thanks to my male cousins, AGAIN!

When I was young, they told me that if a cat were to rub itself against my leg, fur would grow on it. Then the fur would spread and I would end up looking furry all over! So I never dared to touch a cat, and even now, I tense up whenever a cat is near me!
*Ailurophobia is the technical term for the irrational fear of cats.

As for my fear of heights, well, I am just afraid of heights! That is why I never like to take rides on a roller-coaster, and my knees turn jelly whenever I look out of a tall building!

*Acrophobia is the technical term for the irrational fear of heights.

Cheers,
