Hey Boys,
I think there is a need for many of you to prepare yourselves adequately for the Spelling/Dictation tests! Below is a list of the common mistakes you have committed:
1. Spelling errors
2. Punctuation errors (eg. omission of full-stops)
3. 'S' in upper case written as lower case (eg. spiderman instead of Spiderman)
4. Omission of words
5. Writing down the wrong words
*Please note that the words 'on to' and 'onto' are used in different ways.
eg. He held on [to the branch] for his dear life.
He jumped [onto the stage] quickly in order to be the first participant.
Please do your corrections and submit the Spelling Book on Monday, 21 January 2013.
1. Spelling errors
I have written the correct word/s on a new page. Write each word thrice, in pencil, in a column.
2. Punctation errors
Write the correct punctuation mark in the red circle I have drawn for you. Do it in GREEN!
3. Omission of words
Write in the word/s within the red brackets I have drawn for you. Do it in GREEN!
4. If I have written a number on a new page, it means you have made many mistakes for a particular sentence. You need to write that sentence again, in pencil. Please count the number of sentences in the passage and identify the correct sentence you need to write.
Sounds complicated?!
I think so too! But do try your best! And PLEASE write NEATLY! Some of you need to be taught how to sharpen a pencil!
I have some names in mind! I will be rounding you guys up soon and conducting a 'How to sharpen my pencil' Workshop during recess!
Meanwhile, have a great weekend!
Cheers,
Mrs Tan
